The overall aim of the IM Master's specialisation is to provide students with the knowledge and the skills to independently use the scientific method to do research in an international management context or to solve complex problems relevant to managers in an international environment.
The learning strategy used in the International Management programme is action-based. This means that the programme makes use of experiential learning, bringing students in situations where they experience the problems associated with managerial complexities. This will be done by making use of case studies and research projects. Besides, students work in intercultural teams during most classroom sessions. The International Management (IM) programme prepares students for a function as an International Manager or an International Professional in the International Business field. The manager or professional is able to make use of a scientific methodological framework to analyse developments in the international external and internal environment of Multinational Enterprises looking at management processes from a cross-cultural point of view.
